Amey is expanding its Consulting Buildings and Property team and seeking a Graduate Building Services Engineer. Responsibilities include assisting with condition surveys, feasibility studies, design and calculations, site support, and using design software.We deliver projects to a wide range of clients, including the Ministry of Defence (MOD), Ministry of Justice (MOJ), Local Authorities, National Health Service (NHS), Transport, Education, Transport for Wales, Housing and Utilities sectors.

 

The Opportunity

We are hiring a permanent Graduate Building Services Engineer for our Consulting team. Candidates with a Degree or master’s in building services, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering are welcome to apply. We have offices across the country, including Birmingham, Telford, Manchester, Stafford, Sheffield, and Bristol.

 

What you'll be doing

  • To work in a team, assisting with in the production of technically sound engineering solutions, complying with all relevant technical standards and client requirements
  • Design and Modelling assisting HVAC, lighting, power, and water systems designs using Revit or AutoCAD
  • Technical Analysis carrying out engineering calculations (load analysis, pipe stress) and energy modelling
  • Site Support conducting site visits, surveying conditions and observing Commissioning/installation to monitor progress
  • Coordination collaborating with architects, clients and structural engineers to integrate services into building designs
  • Sustainability researching and applying low-carbon solutions and energy efficient technologies
  • Documentation assisting with technical reports, project specifications, and costs estimations
  • General office duties associated with the smooth running of a consulting business

Amey Consulting are looking for individuals who demonstrate clear communication, strong teamwork, and a genuine eagerness to learn. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, and proactive in their approach, showing professionalism and integrity in everything, they do. To be considered for the programme we require the following.

  • Education in a bachelor’s or master’s degree in building services engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • Software Familiarity - basic understanding of CAD/BIM software (Revit, IES, TAS, AutoCAD)
  • Soft Skills Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork and communication skills
  • Technical aptitude understanding of, or interest in, building performance, energy management and sustainability
  • Demonstrates comprehensive supplier knowledge by consistently engaging in regular training, continuous professional development, and maintaining current awareness of available services.
  • Full UK Driving License
